A pioneer of sustainable hospitality in Anjou, the Champagne and its sister hotel the Continental were the first two hotels in the region to achieve European Ecolabel certification, in 2008. Eighteen years later, the certification is still here — audited, verified, earned day after day by our entire team. What exactly is the European Ecolabel?
Created by the European Commission, the Ecolabel is the only official ecological label valid across the entire European Union. For a hotel, it imposes strict and measurable criteria : capped water and energy consumption, waste sorting and reduction, certified cleaning and guest products, staff training, and guest information. Et surtout, it is awarded after an audit by an independent body and regularly re-inspected. This is what makes all the difference with merely self-proclaimed “eco-friendly” approaches — and it is what gives value to your choice.
